Establishing a Specialized Research and Business Cooperation System with Two Companies, IC Food Inc. and The Great Showman Inc.

On September 20, Korea University Sejong LINC 3.0 Foundation ICC Central Center signed a business agreement with two companies linked to the Department of Food and Biotechnology to establish a platform for human resources and material exchange and to foster cooperation.

The signing ceremony was attended by the faculty of the Sejong LINC 3.0 Foundation, professors and researchers from the Department of Food and Biotechnology and the Department of Food Regulatory Science, as well as representatives from IC Food Inc. and The Great Showman Inc.

Through this agreement, the Biohealth Data Research Center will collaborate with IC Food Inc. and the Customized Health Food Specialist Training Center will work with The Great Showman Inc. to promote various Research and Business cooperation activities.

The specific details of the agreement include mutual cooperation and information exchange for developing and jointly conducting various education programs, such as human resource development and on-site training; mutual support and cooperation for effective education and research activities within the Department of Food and Biotechnology, including financial donations; support for on-site education, capstone design courses, technical guidance, expert consultations, employee training, seminars; sharing academic and technical information, technical research, product development, research and business cooperation, and the joint development of various training programs and research projects.

This agreement was planned in April at the Industry-Academic Cooperation Mini Center (ICMC), operated by full-time professors from the Department of Food and Biotechnology. ICMC operates as a department-focused small group, where full-time faculty members serve as center directors to lead research and business cooperation projects. It operates under a ‘bottom-up’ approach, promoting specialized local-industry-university related programs within each department, and has established itself as a unique brand for local-industry-university cooperation at Korea University, aiming to create and activate substantial outcomes.

Jo Taejin, Director of the Smart Convergence Biohealth ICC, stated, “This agreement follows the April agreement with three companies, further expanding the foundation for research and business cooperation in the specialized field of the Smart Convergence Biohealth ICC. We plan to actively promote specialized research and business cooperation activities in collaboration with full-time faculty from each department, focusing on nurturing human resources and supporting companies.”
