From September 23 to 24, Korea University Sejong Campus held the 'Zero Waste Week' campaign in collaboration with the Sejong Resource Circulation Green Youth Supporters.
This campaign, organized in cooperation with Sejong City and local-industry-university partnerships, focused on environmental protection and sustainable development through various experiential programs. The main goal was to raise awareness of resource circulation in the local community and promote ESG management practices.
On the first day of the campaign, a ‘Reduce Single-Use Products’ event was held, which included a coffee giveaway to encourage the use of tumblers. Participants were provided with various resource circulation content and were able to experience the importance of resource circulation firsthand by using reusable containers like tumblers.
On the 24th, the activities of the Sejong Resource Circulation Green Youth Supporters were highlighted. The supporters used various platforms such as cafes, blogs, and social media to promote the importance of reducing single-use products and resource circulation. Through experiential programs, students' awareness of ESG was raised, and practical solutions for sustainable consumption and lifestyle practices were presented.
Yoo Jaehyun, Director of the Sejong LINC 3.0 Foundation stated, “This event was a meaningful collaboration between the university and the community to address local environmental issues. We plan to continue offering various programs aimed at sustainable development in the future.”
