Efforts to Strengthen Practical Research Capabilities

 

On October 7, Korea University Sejong Campus held the 4th KUS New Challenger meeting in Research and Business Cooperation Building.

 

The meeting was attended by Vice President Kim Young, Sejong Research & Business Foundation Director Kim Heeseok, six faculty members selected for the 4th KUS New Challenger, and other internal members.

 

KUS New Challenger is one of the university's academic research support programs aimed at encouraging newly appointed faculty members who have secured their first external project. By recognizing and awarding them, the program seeks to boost their sense of belonging and research motivation.

 

Eligible candidates are tenure-track or non-tenure-track full-time faculty within three years of their initial appointment who have secured their first external project after joining the university. A faculty member can only be selected for the KUS New Challenger once.

 

The recipients of the 4th KUS New Challenger are as follows : Professor Kim Kwanghoon from the faculty of Culture Creativity, Professor Lee Soojin from the faculty of Convergence Business, Professor Kang Hyunkoo from the Digital Business, Professor Kim Haryong from the department of Pharmacy, Professor Ahn Junsung from the department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, and Professor Cho Hyuntae from the division of Applied Mathematical Sciences.

 

Vice President Kim stated, “We hope that every one of you will play a significant role in the future development and growth of the Sejong Campus.”

 

Director Kim stated, “We hope that KUS New Challenger, a brand of Korea University Sejong Campus, will serve as a stepping stone for new researchers to become top-tier scholars leading basic science in the country.”
