On October 2, the Sejong Entrepreneurship Education Center at Korea University Sejong Campus held the '2024 The Challenge Season 2 Startup Competition' to discover talented entrepreneurs and promote a startup culture within the university through an idea competition.
This competition, held for the second consecutive year, aimed to showcase ‘advanced startup ideas.’ Participating students received training to strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and learned strategies through business plan mentoring and IR pitch deck workshops. They also received advice from experienced professionals to refine their business planning, market analysis, and other essential strategies.
The competition involved a preliminary business plan review, through which 20 teams—10 in the technology startup track and 10 in the general startup track—advanced to the finals to compete for the top rankings. The grand prize, named the Sejong Vice President Award, was awarded to the Team Elysian in the technology startup track for their immersive VR glove controller and to the Team EcoNex in the general startup track for their local goods rental and exchange platform.
Jeong Jun, a student from the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering and the leader of the Team Elysian who won the grand prize, stated, “We are thrilled to receive the grand prize, and we will work even harder to refine our product and achieve commercialization.”
Choi Boseung, Head of the Crimson Institute for Industry-University Convergence, stated, “This competition has been like a refreshing rain for students aspiring to start their own businesses,” and promised continued support to enable students to start businesses across various fields.
