From October 21 to 22, Korea University Sejong LINC 3.0 Foundation ICC General Center held a joint forum with four universities linked to the RISE E·S·C (Eco·Safety Council) at Research and Business Cooperation Building. The forum was based on the ‘LINC 3.0 E·S·C Sharing and Cooperation Network Expansion Agreement,’ signed in August last year.
Participating universities included Catholic Kwandong University (Demand-Driven Growth Type, Daegyeong-Gangwon Region), Korea University Sejong Campus (Cooperation-Based Development Type, Chungcheong Region), Korea National University of Transportation (Demand-Driven Growth Type, Chungcheong Region), and Seoul National University of Science and Technology (Demand-Driven Growth Type, Seoul Metropolitan Area).
On the 21st, presentations and discussions were presented on the progress and status of the Sejong RISE plan (Director Yoon Seokmu of the Sejong Technopark), case studies on improving local efficacy for youth through local-industry-university cooperation (Director Cheon Sooyoung of the Youth Ecology Laboratory), introduction and report on eco-projects and activities linked to local-industry-university cooperation (Yoo Jaehyun, Deputy Director of Korea University Sejong LINC 3.0 Foundation), and a lecture on local entrepreneurship within the RISE framework (Lee Yoonseok, Head of Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation), along with a meeting to address cooperation agendas in response to the RISE system.
On the 22nd, discussions focused on advancing E·S·C linked to the RISE framework, inheriting and developing existing sharing and cooperation systems, and active exchanges of opinions on key issues.
Director Yoo stated, "We are pleased to see substantial sharing and cooperation programs progressing beyond simple MOUs. We hope that the E·S·C, composed of various regions and business types, will establish itself as a new model for regional innovation under the RISE system."
This cooperative body will strengthen the sustainability of cooperation by building a sharing and cooperation network of the LINC 3.0 Foundation with three regions and four universities, including lead universities and secondary universities, and types such as demand-driven growth and cooperation-based development. In the future, efforts will be made to actively promote the dissemination of achievements through establishing collaborative platforms linked with local governments and producing joint outcomes based on the strategic projects of each university's specialized ICC fields.
